It’s been 20 years since Batman Digital Justice was published and there has been growing chatter about a comeback of sorts (not sure how people pick up on these waves as there’re actually a few things in the works but nothing that has be announced or made official yet).
Meanwhile (and somewhat related) we’re in the process of gathering all the design materials that were used for the Batman book. Interestingly enough the sketches and raw designs themselves as well as that pioneer spirit (or naivety) that went with them are more interesting to me than the finished work (given that the technological restrictions were artistically painful). No one has ever seen this work (almost no one outside myself, close friends and those on a need to know basis). There's a wealth of material and it’s been more than 20 years since I’ve chosen to focus on it.
Here’s a peek at some of the behind the scenes work that went into the book. I’ll be posting tidbits of the work, as we get closer to making an announcement. Please let me know what do you think.
